I recently had the privilege of documenting the Artscapade at the University of Michigan Museum of Art as part of Welcome Week in Ann Arbor!
This year's event included interactive art-making, live music, performances, poetry, and dancing. One of my favorite parts was seeing Festifools join in with tables where students could create cardboard clothing and decorations.
For me, there's something especially fun about being surrounded by art and creativity. Art class was my favorite growing up, so photographing Artscapade makes me feel a little bit like a kid again. I love seeing students of all ages connect, get creative, and make art together.
I love working with UMMA—not only are their events always fun, colorful, visual, and thoughtfully put together, but everyone genuinely seems to be having a great time. These are exactly the kinds of events I love to photograph.
Thank you to Chris and everyone at UMMA for trusting me to document another incredible event! I'm so grateful to continue photographing the people, organizations, and events that make Ann Arbor and the University of Michigan such a vibrant community.
