I’m so excited to finally share some of the images I created for Schuler Books! I had the opportunity to visit all four of their Michigan locations to create a collection of brand photography for their website, marketing, and other creative needs!
One of my favorite things about the photography I got to do for Schulers was getting to help tell the story of a business through the people, places, and everyday moments that make it unique. For this project, that meant capturing the people behind the bookshelves, employees helping customers, candid interactions throughout the stores, and the little details that make the Schuler Books experience feel so special.
Each location has its own personality and cozy charm, but there’s also a wonderful consistency throughout the stores that makes you instantly recognize the Schuler Books experience. I loved photographing the colorful murals, thoughtfully curated gifts, wooden bookshelves, and especially the children’s sections. There’s so much character in these spaces, and I wanted the images to reflect the warmth and personality that make each store feel like a place you want to spend an afternoon.
I also had the opportunity to photograph team portraits and meet so many wonderful people along the way. Everyone was incredibly kind and welcoming, which made the experience that much more meaningful. Being able to document not just the spaces but also the people who bring them to life is one of my favorite parts of brand photography.
It’s always an honor to work with businesses that have a strong identity and a genuine connection to their communities. Projects like this are a great example of how thoughtful brand and commercial photography can help businesses tell a more complete story, giving customers a glimpse into the people behind the brand.
I’m so grateful to the Schuler Books team for trusting me with this project and inviting me into all four of their stores. It was such a fun opportunity to collaborate with an iconic Michigan brand!
